Then had a good ride through attractive lanes towards Dumfries, when unfortunately the heavens opened, quite literally. We truly had a downpour of biblical proportions as we arrived in Dumfries well and truly soaked.
Had another spoke go, just as we arrived too, so off to bike shop again for a quick repair. Will need to get a replacement wheel in Oban now, so hopefully can make it there with no more dramas.
It had stopped raining, by the time we got on the way again and had one of the best sections of the ride so far. Beautiful quiet lanes, with rolling hills, not Cornish cliffs a great tea shop in Moniaive followed by a climb up and then the best descent so far. 6 miles of almost continual downhill, on an empty road, with good Tarmac and no potholes, views across the scottish hills and not a single car.
